[:ro]Disco Sigaretta a început ca un blog care combina imaginea cu muzica (vinil), în tonul sugerat de titlu, portofoliul lor cuprinzând selecții ale: Tim Sweeney, Lee Douglas, Manuel Kim, Zambon, Cristian Beetz, Richard Rossa etc.
Pornind de la pasiunea pentru muzică, cei doi Disco Sigaretta (în formula inițială Rocky Siffredo și Sick Carantino), au început să-și etaleze gusturile și în „viața reală”, ca DJ prin diverse baruri și localuri din București. Următorul pas a fost reprezentat de găzduirea unei serii de petreceri private, avându-i ca invitați pe: Konstantin Timosenko, The Very Polish Cut Outs, DJ Snagov sau Dragoș Rusu. Apoi, a urmat și o serie de petreceri, ca rezidenți, în Control Club, unde au mixat și alături de Cristian Pannenborg, Marcello Giordani, Discodromo, Horse Meat Disco, Franz UnderWear, Manuel Kim si Montezumas Rache dar și de DJ-i locali. Între timp, pasiunea pentru sunetul sintetizatoarelor îl detemină pe Rocky Siffredo să demareze și o serie de re-edituri scoase anul acesta sub label-ul argentinian “Diavol Edits”, iar în martie am putut asculta prima piesă Disco Sigaretta lansată de olandezii de la “Bordelo a Parigi”.
Celor interesați de excursii muzicale de la late disco, la *83 italo, cu valențe cosmice, abordări deep, influențe afro și incursuni dub și raggae, le spunem că Disco Sigaretta aproape au monopolizat această zonă în scena locală. Este unul dintre motivele pentru care trebuie musai să experimentezi set-ul pregătit de ei pentru ediția de anul acesta a Blaj aLive!
[:en]Disco Sigaretta started as a blog which combined the images with the music (vinyls), in the funky tonality suggested by the title, in the blog’s portfolio thus entering selections for: Tim Sweeney, Lee Douglas, Manuel Kim, Zambon, Cristian Beetz, Richard Rossa etc. Starting from their passion for music, the two Disco Sigaretta (Rocky Siffredo and Sick Carantino in the initial formula), started to express their tastes in the offline environment as well, as DJs in various bars and party locations from Bucharest. The next step was represented by the series of parties which they hosted in various locations, where they also had as guests other artists like: Konstantin Timosenko, The Very Polish Cut Outs, DJ Snagov or Dragoș Rusu. Then, this series was followed by another series of similar parties held in Control Club (Bucharest), where they were resident DJs and shared the stage with artists like Cristian Pannenborg, Marcello Giordani, Discodromo, Horse Meat Disco, Franz UnderWear, Manuel Kim or Montezumas Rache, and with other local DJs as well.
Meanwhile, the passion for synths made Rocky Siffredo produce a series of re-edits which were launched, this year, under the “Diavol Edits” Argentinian label. Besides this, this year we could also listen to the first Disco Sigaretta piece, launched by the “Bordelo a Parigi” Dutch label.
Those interested in musical trips comprising a variety of musical styles, from the late disco, to *83 italo, with cosmic touch and deep approaches, afro incluences and dub and reggae vibes, must know that Disco Sigaretta almost have a “monopol” on this musical segment in Romania. This is one of the reasons for which you shouldn’t miss the set they prepared for this Blaj aLive edition!
